Our First Soccer Game—Worth the Wait

By Zachary S., UE1, 6th Grade

On April 15, we had our first Inly School soccer game against Oak Meadow Montessori School. Since they were from Littleton, they had to take a one-and-a-half hour trip all the way to our school. Unfortunately, they had to start driving during rush hour, and they got a bit lost. While we were waiting for them, our team had time to play a full scrimmage and run a couple of drills.

Oak Meadow finally got here, but it had taken them two hours and forty minutes to get to our school. Once they got ready and finished warming up, we started the game. For our first game, as a team of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, we played a good game. Our passing was good, we took some great shots on net, but none of them seemed to go in. The final score was 0-0. A dead tie at a scoreless game.

After the game, Oak Meadow joined us for a fun party where we mingled and learned about each other, and ate pizza.
