Diary of a Middle School Golde, Part Five

By Ali Z. (8th grade)

Ah, well, it seems as if this will be the last post from Golde, seeing that the epic finale of our efforts was last Wednesday. I loved every minute of Fiddler on the Roof and wouldn’t change it for the world. We were all great, and everyone remembered their lines(!).

During the play, as I normally do, I had a little backstage fun. We all had high energy, and we were all doing our best. Did anyone notice that on the second performance, my candle broke? We had these candles with light bulbs that lit up when you screwed them on, and I accidentally made mine fall off! I also had difficulties picking up Chava’s book at the beginning.

I think my favorite part about the play was the costumes…I loved how they smelled a little funny, bunched up in weird places, and had this way of slipping down a little too low or falling in front of your face. Yes, I think I’ll miss the costumes the most.

In closing, I’d like to thank Donna, Colleen, Meri-Lee and everyone else who took time out of their day to help us with the production. It wouldn’t be as wonderful as it was without you! I’d also like to thank the entire cast for doing such a wonderful job, seeing as there would be no play without you!
