I recently took a tally of the Inly Middle School’s likes and dislikes on various topics for a communications committee assignment. I asked the following questions of my 35 peers:
- What is your favorite video game?
- What is your favorite sport?
- What is your favorite movie?
- What is your favorite candy?
- What is your favorite holiday?
All of these questions were thought of and perfected by yours truly. Alright, enough talk—let’s get crackin’.
The most picked video game in Middle School was Call Of Duty. It only got named three times, but all the other write-ins were only named once each. Although being very fun to play I would not recommend this game for children under 13.
The most dramatic topic was sports. There was a tie between basketball and soccer, both with eight votes. I like to play both, so I am happy with the outcome.
The verdict of the movie question was also a tie between Lord of the Rings and Get Smart, both with three votes. I think both deserve the title of being the favorite movie because I think they were very well done.
The most scrumptious of our questions (aka the candy one) had no competition at all, with Reese’s peanut butter cups the big winner—a surprise because Inly is a nut free school. Still though, Reese’s are pretty tasty.
And finally, we get to the Middle School’s most popular holiday, Christmas, with 20 more votes than any other holiday. I completely agree with this verdict and can proudly say that my vote contributed to the amount that went towards December 25. It is, after all, a day, or as I should put it, a night, when a jolly old man comes down the chimney and gives you free presents…what more could you ask for.
I thought this was a really fun tally to take and a great opportunity to write my first blog post. Thank you for reading.
