Lots of Inly alums are busy with spring sports this year in their respective high schools and colleges. Some are making waves in the swimming pool while others are serving aces on the tennis courts, running fast on the track, rowing hard on the water, riding the wind in sailing, scoring goals in frisbee and lacrosse and hitting home-runs in baseball. High School Athletes:
Lucy Knox (‘12) just made varsity softball at Phillips Exeter Academy as a freshman and her big sister, Phoebe Knox (‘10), continues to row at Dublin School. Ben Phillips (‘11) and Tucker Desisto (‘11), also both at Dublin, are playing varsity lacrosse together.
Daphne Caron (‘12) is a freshman at Trinity Preparatory School in Florida. She rows for North Orlando Rowing (NOR) where she competes in both sweep and sculling events. Since joining NOR in September, Daphne has competed in nine races including most recently the John Hunter Regatta, a southeast regional event held at the 1996 Olympic rowing venue where her novice and JV 4+ boats took gold and silver medals respectively. Daphne will be racing in four more state and regional events in Florida and Tennessee before the season ends in May.
Hanno Kite-Powell (‘09) is on the Duxbury High School sailing team with his brother, Jan Kite-Powell (‘11). Hanno is co-captain of the varsity team and is sailing as skipper in the photo on the right. The team started practicing about a month ago and had its first meet on April 1 on Duxbury Bay versus St. Johns Prep and Dartmouth HS.
Michaela Morris (‘10), now a junior at Duxbury High School, received a varsity letter for swimming and qualified and competed at the state championships her freshman, sophomore and junior year. This year she was selected to the Patriot League All Star Team and was awarded the Team Spirit award. The Duxbury High swim team has been undefeated and won the Patriot League championship the past 3 years and placed 7th in the state this year. She is currently on the Duxbury High School sailing team for the spring sports season.
Luke Vigna (‘12) just made the varsity tennis team in his first season at Plymouth North High School while Thayer Academy’s tennis team is lucky to have Aoife Mac Intyre (’11) on their JV squad and Tucker Meehan (‘11) and Chris Ribaudo on varsity.
Meghan Reilly (‘11) is running track at Summerfield Waldorf High School in California. Grace Harrington (‘11) is running track at Scituate High School while Elizabeth Harrington (‘11) is rowing at Brewster Academy. Julian Jackson (‘10) is playing varsity baseball and rowing at The Newman School while his little sister, Gabby Jackson (‘12), is also rowing on the JV team at Boston University Academy.
College Athletes:
Brett Noble (‘07) is currently in his second season as a defense player for the Husson Lacrosse Eagles. Noble is studying Criminal Justice at Husson, which is located Bangor, Maine. Jeremy Phillips (‘07) is on the Rhodes College Track and Field team. His events are long, triple jump, 100 meter, 200 meter and relay. Lindsay Silver (‘07), who is currently attending Haverford College, is a sophomore, and playing her second year of Ultimate Frisbee. She just became a co-captain of the school’s B team. The team played in a Frisbee tournament this weekend and won their last game against U. Penn 11- 8. Lindsay helped score with 2 assists and then made 2 of the winning goals!
